Dr. Elsa Larson

Dr. Elsa Larson is Vice President of the Health & Well-Being Practice at M/A/R/C Research. Elsa earned her PhD and MA in Behavioral Science from the University of Rhode Island, the home of The Transtheoretical Model of Behavior Change. She holds an additional MS in Pharmacoepidemiology. Elsa has over 20 years of applied research experience across consulting, industry, government, and academic medicine. Her work has addressed complex public health challenges such as smoking, HIV/AIDS, and vaccines.

Prior to joining M/A/R/C, Elsa held scientific roles at Global Action to End Smoking, Altria Client Services, and the Rhode Island Department of Health Tobacco Control Program. At M/A/R/C, Elsa leverages her behavioral science expertise to serve clients across multiple industries, including tobacco and nicotine. Her team partners with clients on regulatory and commercial research, including actual use studies, TPPI studies, post-market surveillance, product innovation, and competitive analysis. She also provides strategic guidance for M/A/R/C's Health & Well-Being Survey, a population study of ~10,000 US adults to examine health behaviors ranging from physical activity, nutrition, and sleep to consumer use of nicotine, cannabis, and alcohol.
