Dr. Carolina Garcia-Canton

Carolina Garcia-Canton, PhD, ERT, serves as Vice President within Scientific and Regulatory Affairs at RAI Services Company, a subsidiary of Reynolds American. She is responsible for leading the company’s Product Stewardship program which includes Toxicology; Product Compliance & Post-Market Surveillance. Carolina also oversees the development of premarket regulatory submissions for the oral product portfolio, including traditional oral tobacco and oral nicotine products. Carolina assumed this role in early 2025, on international move from Reynolds’s parent company, British American Tobacco (BAT).

Carolina began her career with BAT in 2005 at a small biotech division in Cambridge, UK. Over the years, she has successfully led multi‑product category projects across in vitro toxicology and product risk assessment, supporting BAT’s product portfolio categories. Prior to moving to the United States, Carolina spent two years at BAT’s global headquarters as Global Scientific Engagement Manager within Corporate and Regulatory Affairs. In this role, she advanced BAT’s scientific engagement strategy across diverse external stakeholders, contextualizing tobacco harm reduction within varying regulatory landscapes through engagement with regulators, public health experts, and scientific collaborators.

Carolina represents Reynolds American on the CORESTA Board, building on extensive experience as a technical expert across industry and standard‑setting groups, including ISO and CEN. She is an active member of professional toxicology societies such as EUROTOX and is a UK/EU Registered Toxicologist.
