Andrew Nunes is a PwC partner with over 18 years of experience servicing companies from an indirect tax perspective. He currently leads PwC’s National Excise Tax Practice, servicing clients impacted by federal, state and local excise taxes regardless of their geography. He teams with clients in industries impacted by excise tax matters including tobacco, alternative nicotine products, alcohol, transportation, trucking, retail, wholesale, wagering, aviation, and sporting goods, among others. While he consults on all related matters, Andrew and his team specialize in tax minimization, controversy, compliance process design, and outsourced compliance.
Andrew and his team have historically supported the tobacco industry and have specialized in establishing tax and operationally efficient compliance environments as well as supporting through various controversy matters. With the uptick in new product advancements and related legislative and policy changes, a great deal of his time has been focused on tracking, understanding, and helping Clients meet the evolving tax requirements of these levies and understanding the financial and operational impacts. Over the past several years, he has also focused heavily on deploying robust and efficient tax compliance outsourcing options for companies.
Andrew is an active member of trade associations for the industries impacted by excise levies, often as PwC’s liaison for the organizations. Andrew is a graduate of Bryant University with Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Master of Professional Accountancy. He is a licensed CPA in Massachusetts.
